Honey Curry Bread
Like the Apple Butternut Squash soup I posted a few months back, this is also one of Carl Warner's recipes out of Great Cooking With Country Inn Chefs. In fact, I often serve this bread with the soup!
INGREDIENTS
2 envelopes dry yeast
2 2/3 cups warm water
7 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup honey
3 T curry powder
2 t salt
1 egg, beaten
Poppy seeds
Combine the water and yeast in a bowl and let sit 5 minutes.
Combine the flour, honey, curry powder, salt and yeast mixture in a bowl and stir to blend. Knead the dough seven minutes.
Place in a greased bowl and cover with a clean kitchen towel. Allow to rise for 1 hour.
Punch down the dough and divide into thirds. Place on baking sheets and allow to rise for 45 minutes. Best served warm.
